We offer weekly, fortnightly, and flexible roles across a range of areas. We’re a welcoming and inclusive organisation, with many volunteers bringing their own lived experience to support others.
Whatever you enjoy, there’s a place for you at HARP.

Give the gift of time by volunteering for HARP
Volunteers are a vital part of HARP.
Nearly 200 people regularly give their time to support our work, with many others helping when they can. Their time and commitment help us run our services and be there for people across our community.
People get involved in all sorts of ways. Some enjoy cooking and preparing food. Others like organising, driving, or supporting activities. Every role helps keep things running and makes a difference day to day.
Whether you’re volunteering for the first time or have experience in this area, we’ll give you the training and support you need to get started.
We also run regular opportunities for volunteers to come together – including events during Volunteers’ Week, informal coffee mornings, and a Christmas get-together.
Volunteering is a chance to meet people who care about the same things you do and want to support their local community.
It’s also a practical way to make a difference – supporting people day to day, at a local level.
“I get so much out of my regular volunteering with HARP. I genuinely feel like one of the team and even though people sometimes think that homeless people can be scary, they are kind, respectful and polite to me all of the time. I love it here”.
Maggie, 10+ year volunteering at HARP
