Are you passionate about supporting people out of homelessness?
We are looking for people who bring a range of skills to the organisation to help us meet our mission.
HARP is South Essex’s leading homelessness charity and every year we work with around 1,000 local people to help them overcome or avoid homelessness.
It is an exciting time to be joining HARP. The organisation has undergone significant change and growth over the past twelve months and we have ambitious plans for the future which will continue to transform lives.
About The Role
Ref: HRC002
Applicants for this role must be available for interview 23rd June 2026
At HARP, we work alongside people experiencing homelessness to help them find hope, stability and independence. Behind every service we provide is a team of people who care deeply about making a difference — and our HR team plays an important part in supporting those colleagues to do their best work.
We are looking for an organised, approachable and proactive HR Coordinator to join our growing HR team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a varied role and wants to continue developing their HR career within a supportive and values-led organisation.
Working alongside another HR Coordinator and reporting to the Head of HR, you will help provide high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and HR administration, you will help ensure our people processes run smoothly and that managers and colleagues receive timely, supportive and professional advice.
You will support a wide range of HR activities, including:
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding and pre-employment checks
- Supporting managers and employees with day-to-day HR queries
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
- Assisting with employee relations processes including absence management, investigations and wellbeing support
- Preparing HR letters, reports and documentation
- Supporting policy reviews, compliance monitoring and HR projects
- Helping promote positive employee wellbeing and engagement across the organisation
No two days are the same, so we are looking for someone who is adaptable, organised and confident managing a varied workload.
What we are looking for
- Has experience working in a HR support or coordinator role
- Experience in leading and managing formal employee relations processes, including investigations, disciplinary hearings, grievances and consultation, with confidence and in line with policy and employment law, with oversight from the Head of HR on complex or high-risk matters.
- Has knowledge of core HR processes and employment law principles
- Is CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards this (or has equivalent experience)
- Communicates clearly and builds positive working relationships
- Can manage confidential and sensitive information professionally
- Has strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Enjoys working collaboratively and providing supportive people-focused service
- Experience within the charity, social care or not-for-profit sector would be beneficial, but is not essential.
