HARP is South Essex’s leading homelessness charity and every year we work with around 1,000 local people to help them overcome or avoid homelessness.

About The Role

This role is ideal for someone with painting and decorating experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and enjoys being part of a supportive and purpose-driven team.
You will carry out a wide range of decorating and maintenance work across HARP’s properties, including emergency accommodation, transitional housing, the Bradbury Centre, charity shops and other community spaces.
You will need to work sensitively and respectfully within environments where people may be living or accessing support services while works are taking place.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out interior and exterior painting and decorating works across HARP properties
- Preparing surfaces including sanding, filling and making good
- Supporting wider building maintenance and improvement works where appropriate
- Helping maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments
- Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Maintaining painting supplies and equipment
- Following health and safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
- Providing a professional and friendly service across all HARP sites
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in painting and decorating
- Has a good understanding of buildings and property maintenance
- Takes pride in delivering quality workmanship
- Can manage their workload effectively and work independently when required
- Has good communication skills and a positive, flexible approach
- Works well as part of a team
- Holds a valid UK driving licence
